ZANTi is a new band, album & multi-media project from pioneering music legends Anni Hogan & Derek Forbes.
After a momentous magical meeting at SCI-FI LONDON film festival, Anni Hogan and Derek Forbes realised they had a lot more in common than their favourite sci-fi The Zanti Misfits!
A compelling combined musical history, Hogan’s success as Marc Almond’s MD & key collaborator in the 80’s, plus her work with a plethora of established alternative artists including Nick Cave, Barry Adamson & Wolfgang Flür (Kraftwerk) fused with iconic bassist Derek Forbes success with Propaganda, Simple Minds & Big Country resulting in a recent prestigious Ivor Novello award inspired the sonic pair to create ZANTi.
They recorded a cinematically inspired 8 track album at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool during 2017 with sound engineer Andrea ‘Ando’ Wright (Bunnymen, Brian Jonestown Massacre) and both Anni Hogan & Derek Forbes on singing, playing, writing & producing duties.
Their inaugural album ‘Broken Hearted City’ will be released on all formats on exclusive license to the highly respected Downwards Records in June 2018.
ZANTi are available for all music events including Festivals, Tours, Corporate Music Events and personal appearances including Broadcasting, TV and Radio.
