Margi Clarke Biography
Margi Clarke is an award-winning actress and television presenter, and her sheer amount of film and television appearances speak for themselves. Whether working with Johnny Depp or Sir John Gielgud, interviewing Kate Bush, or starring in Hollywood films or the best loved UK TV soaps, Margi has the stories, the anecdotes, and the laughs that will really pack a punch with any crowd.
Capable of instantly captivating an audience, Margi’s life experience is rich and varied. Her personal story is interesting and in addition to being an actress with an extensive career, she is also a vivacious public speaker.
RTA Award, Letter to Brezhnev & Blonde Fist
Winner of the Royal Television Society Award for ‘Best Female Presenter’ Margi has not only presented TV, but has also starred in Hollywood films- multi-million grossing ‘Letter to Brezhnev’ turned her into a household name along with starring as the lead character in ‘Blonde Fist’, and in addition to appearing in films with Sir John Gielgud and Johnny Depp, she also starred in the Aki Kaurismäki art house trilogy, and 24 Hour Party People with Steve Coogan and Andy Serkis.
The Good Sex Guide, Making Out & the Pet Shop Boys Video
Margi also headed the extremely popular ‘Good Sex Guide’, winner of many international awards, and was a main character in the BBC’S long running and much loved series ‘Making Out’. Margi also has hit the pop charts, having a single in the Top Ten and starring in music videos (most notably in the Top Ten UK Chart song ‘Rent’ by the Pet Shop Boys).
Educating Rita & Radio Shows
In addition to a rich history appearing in many plays (including being the inimitable inspiration for the main character of Willy Russell’s ‘Educating Rita’ – a part which she also played herself), Margi also took her one-woman standup across the UK, then to the Edinburgh Festival. Margi is also experienced in presenting Radio shows for numerous years.
Coronation Street, Benidorm & Voiceovers
From starring in the UK’s best loved prime time shows including Benidorm, Coronation Street, Hollyoaks, and Celebrity MasterChef (amongst hundreds of others) she can also be heard on many of the advertising industry’s leading voiceovers, most notably for Cadbury and as the voice of ‘Bixie’ (a Weetabix character).
